2012 Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee

   For opening day of the Fair, traffic is very light. In years past, when the economy was good, the cars would begin lining up early on Thursday and would be backed up for a mile. Not this morning! Have hopes for a big year been dashed?

   No one seems to be sure, but the talk around town has not been of the Fair this week, but of politics and elections. We understand, the Fair didn't even print entry booklets for locals to enter their food, etc. in the Fair, so some did not get their entries filed in time.

   It may take some time, if the Friends of the Fair are learning how to put on a County Fair, so we should wait till next year and see how it goes. At least the weather is good for the weekend! So, as Merita Callaway says, GO JUMP A FROG!
