Chair Gary Tofanelli spends quite a bit of time before each meeting reading off the list of lawsuits the County is fighting. At the top of the list is the many years of battles with the Nemees, who owned Trinitas, at least before the County caused them to lose the property due to foreclosure and subsequent bankruptcy. They have such nice neighbors.
This decision, in our opinion, was detrimental to the County, for both tax reasons and jobs. As Gary Tofanelli stated in a debate, no matter how the majority voted, there most likely would have been a lawsuit, but the 3 enviro crazed Supervisors were threatened by their supporters on the extreme left and they folded.
That absolutely beautiful golf course, on Ag land, which 48 other counties in California encourage, could now become the wasteland that it was prior to the Nemees. That will make the neighbors happy, as we feel they were simply jealous that the Nemees owned more land than they did.
What a waste!
