The CHP has released the 57,000 tickets were issued in April for distracted driving, either for using a cell phone or texting while driving. Another month of this campaign "It's Not Worth It" will most likely result in additional income for the State, as we have not noticed any less cell phones to the ear.
"There are those who understand the dangers and have curtailed their use, while others think the hazards apply to everyone else but them," Christopher Murphy said of the problem. Especially troubling, says CHP, is the phone use figures showing drivers 16-25 are talking or texting at a rate of 18%, up from 9 % in 2011.
