Accident on Hwy 4 at Big Trees State Park

     Two drivers, both from out of town, got into a collision over the weekend on Hwy 4 at one of the entrances to Big Trees State Park.

    Geraldine Marquez (39) of Stockton, was driving a 1995 BMW eastboud on Hwy 4, when she attempted to turn left onto a private road which is part of the Big Trees State Park.

    Mr. Edlund of Elk Grove, was driving a 1983 Honda also headed eastbound on Hwy 4. As Edlund overtook Marquez, according to CHP, it appears he attempted to pass her car to the left.

     The right side of the Honda struck the left front of the BMW, causing minor damage. Edlund was transported to Mark Twain Hospital with minor injuries.
