Code Enforcement at the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors presented the County's case to put on the ballot a tax of $1 per every registered vehicle a year in order to tow unidentifiable abandoned vehicles during the year. Supervisor Callaway especially praised the program.
Peter Racz, of Valley Springs then got up and asked the entire Board of Supervisors "Have you ever seen a tax you didn't like?" He complained about all the additional fees and taxes they have implemented against us.
As Supervisor Spellman stated, why should the rest of us pay for those who aren't responsible for properly disposing of a vehicle they no longer want? Why can't the county make up the money by selling the vehicles for scrap?
