Yes, change is difficult; especially as we get older. There are still some who are afraid of or simply refuse to use a computer.
But the facts are the facts. The Postal Workers Union puts out multi-million dollar ads on television in order to try and scare us or make us feel guilty for not giving more and more money to the USPS--not because they care about us, but because they care about keeping the numbers of members in their union. They care about THEIR money coming in from dues.
Whether they like it or not, computers, especially e-mail, even customer billing by computer is here to stay. When was the last time you truly enjoyed going to the post office?
If you are living in an area where your mail, mostly bills and advertisements are delivered, you have minimal contact with postal union employees.
However, if you are forced to go to the post office to receive your bills and advertisements, you are forced to deal with rude, uninterested and downright nasty union workers.
We have heard so many horror stories about these bad employees, and how they are protected by the unions; never fired, and very seldom even reprimanded.
As taxpayers, we have to realize that this giant wormhole is no longer our "knight in shining armor". In fact, it is the "thorn in our side".
The billions of dollars we spend on making sure these union employees have an easy life and then get a good retirement is staggering. It has to stop somewhere.
