Peter Sheldon Smith of Murphys

     Peter Sheldon Smith was born September 19, 1936 in Oakland and passed away on June 12, 2012 at his residence in Murphys.

     Mr. Smith resided in Murphys for the past 17 years. Prior to that he lived in Pleasanton.

     He was the loving husband of Paula Smith, to whom he was married for 52 years.

    The father of Douglas Smith of Elk Grove, and Alexis Hambrick of Tuolumne, he was preceded in death by his son Gregory Smith and brothers Stewart Osmer and Donald Osmer.

   Mr. Smith was also the grandfather of Lance Drush, Jennifer Drush and Lauren Smith.

     He had retired after 34  years as a maintenance man at Pleasanton Public Schools, was a member of Native Sons of the Golden West, past volunteer at New Melones Visitors Center and  enjoyed woodworking, especially making furniture.

     Memorial Services are planned for July 7, 2012 at 1 PM at the First Congregational Church in Murphys.

    Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
