Another One Bites The Dust In Bankruptcy

As you may have heard on the news this morning, San Bernardino has filed for Bankruptcy protection, saying it has no money to pay its debts.
How can Calaveras County be so solvent? Our economic conditions are
far worse than many areas around the state.
Our unemployment numbers are way too high and welfare cases are even higher. The values of our properties certainly did not rise this year, in fact many went even lower.
And how many of you have officially requested to have your tax assessments lowered? We hear that many people who are entitled to a downward revision have not requested this.
With no future sight of an economy growing again, how can the County Board of Supervisors continue to say they don't need to lay off, or cut back employees.
Scranton, Pennsylvania has been forced to put all of its employees back to minimum wage, which is $7.25 an hour in Pennsylvania.  Are we next? Are our Supervisors wise to our budget problems?
  We wonder!
