Minutemen Survival Supply Store?

We've had several calls asking about the "Minutemen Survival Supply Store" that hung a big banner and pitched a tent at the gas station over the past weekend.

We sent an e-mail to Michael McHatton, City Administrator in Angels Camp, asking if they were permitted, had a license etc.

Some have said it scared them. Others said the sign was a dangerous distraction on the Hwy.  We asked a well-known person who might have information of this type of thing what they knew of it, and he said, "you better be collecting months of supplies and have lots of friends".  When we asked if he meant "lots of guns" he did not reply.

UPDATE:  We finally heard from McHatton on August 2, 2012 that there was no permit pulled for this business or for the banner hung on Hwy 4.

Why is it the City Police didn't notice this business and report it?  Why were we the ones who had to question the City?

We told several people who mentioned that the City is quick to harrass the hardworking local business people by adding more fees and licenses, but allows a large tent and giant banner to be hung in the middle of town without a whisper of compliance?
