Wheats Fire Smoking Heavily

  It was reported Wednesday August 15, 2012 at around 8:30 AM, that the Wheats Fire, which is considered to be 100% contained, was smoking heavily. This is in the Summit Ranger District, and is west of the Dardenelles and is believed to have been caused by lightning.

   This fire, which consumed 260 acres, is also in the Stanislaus National Forest is in the mop-up stage, and many of the men were transfered to the Ramsey fire off Hwy 4.
