On September 19, 2012 at 1:32 PM, Judith Allhizer, 77 of Vallecito was driving her 2002 Ford Expedition on Hwy 4 westbound near Pennsyvania Gulch, when, according to CHP, Terry Pierce, 53 of Murphys stopped her 1996 Dodge pickup, to turn left onto Pennsylvania Gulch.
Allhizer did not see the pickup was stopped aand she drove directly into the rear end of the vehicle.
Pierce was transported to Mark Twain Hospital with minor injuries. Allhizer was not injured. Traffic was tied up at the intersection for quite some time.
