Dear Sierra Sentinel:
I want to address the "neighbor from hell" issue. Most of us have at one time or another, a neighbor like the ones exposed recently. Remember the "rooster" scandal? And how many of you have had a neighbor who doesn't take care of or keep their dog in their own yard?
The only and last resort when the neighbor is abusive, behaving in a mentally ill manner, or breaking laws, is our Sheriff's Department. Without them, there would be even more neighbor murders, such as the ones in Burson.
We need to pressure our elected Supervisors to put more of their resources into the Sheriff's Department, even if it means a little less goes into welfare. And I want to warn everyone who is presently experiencing problems with a "neighbor from hell", to beware, because these types of people can and will become violent. I encourage high fences.
