William Padelford passed away at his home of 20 years, in Douglas Flat on September 25, 2012. He was 78.
A native of Oakland, he had grown up a strong Christian in the Bay Area and enjoyed working with youth, including taking them on trips to Mexico on mission trips.
Mr. Padelford worked in construction all his life and in various places in Calaveras County, including the Angels Camp Museum and the Food Bank.
He mentored many boys and girls during his lifetime, and loved giving of himself, expecting nothing in return.
He also loved the foothills, the people and histroy here and never wanted to leave.
Mr. Padelford is survived by his wife Barbara Padelford of Douglas Flat; children David Padelford of Castro Valley, Michele Colton of Livermore, Dawn Callaux of Benicia, Jon Padelford of Concord; siblings Peter Padelford of Arnold and Susan Clark of Oregon.
He is also survived by the many boys and girls whom he loved and mentored.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday September 30, 2012 at 4 PM at the First Baptist Church in Angels Camp.
