Poll on Retiring.....Not in Calaveras County
The elderly should not have to worry all the time about how they are going to live! |
The interesting portion of this statement is that "the end of the Great Recession was in 2009." HUH?
What world do they live in? In Calaveras County we have a separate Great DEPRESSION, caused by our Supervisors who are anti-growth, passed Resolution 07-242, and therefore anti-job, anti-homeowners, but are pro-welfare!!!
Will we elect Supervisors who will get rid of the waste of a General Plan and help this County get back to work? We'll have to wait and see!! We know what we've had!!

Twisted Oak Winery earns position on Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Wines of 2012
Twisted Oak Winery is pleased to announce that our estate-grown 2009 Calaveras County "Torcido" Garnacha has earned #50 on the Wine Enthusiast Magazine Top 100 Wines of 2012.
Earlier this year when the 2009 Torcido was given a 93 point score by Wine Enthusiast, reviewer Virginie Boone had this to say:
"What a wine. It tries to intimidate. At first, by its bottle size and alcohol level, but in the glass this 100% Garnacha is like a purring kitten—well a purring 20-pound Maine Coon cat, joyous in its pretty red fruit, and its earthy, meaty, vanilla and cinnamon toast range of goodness. All lush, Twisted Oak's Torcido is, like a retro soap opera, brave and beautiful."
The 2009 Torcido (which means "twisted" in Spanish) is 100% Garnacha, grown in our estate vineyard located in Vallecito, Calaveras County, California. Garnacha is a Spanish variant of Grenache, and produces hearty reds like our Torcido. Detailed technical info and consumer reviews for the 2009 Torcido may be found on our web site.
Wine Enthusiast magazine is one of the top wine magazines in the US, and their ratings and reviews are valued by both the trade and consumers.
Any score 90 points or above is considered "Excellent". Each year the Wine Enthusiast reviews thousands of wines before selecting the Top 100 wines. The full list will be published in the December 2012 issue.

I have been reading about a bunch of non-profits who want to start collecting TOT tax money. Are they really 501c3's?
If they are, then I want my favorite non-profit to get some of that money too!

Noise Complaint Jumped on.....
A noise complaint was made to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office on October 24, 2012 about a resident on Cedar Drive in Hathaway Pines. This was around 8:45 PM.
This is a regular occurrance on Cedar Drive, where many problems are not handled correctly, bias takes place and the alcoholics and druggies withing around a couple of hundred yards are allowed, but noise is jumped on at 8:45 PM.
We though the noise ordinance was for after 10 PM. Some cops make up their own laws.

Best Joke of the NIght...On Jay Leno
President Obama went on Jay Leno last night and of course Jay had to ask the President what he thought about Donald Trump's new attacks from earlier in the day about his birth certificate, etc.
The President, who has the laid back humor of the late Jack Kennedy, said "Well, Jay, Donald and I ...our troubles go back to when we were kids together being raised in Kenya."
Of course, the audience roared and the morning talk shows all played it again and again. Timing, humor and content. The President has it all.
