According to CHP a traffic accident in Copperoplis Sunday, October 21, 2012 around 2 PM was caused by a 2005 Mitsubishi driven by Joan Paris, 66 of Copperopolis, which was headed southbound on O'Byrnes Ferry Road, just south of Copper Cove Drive at approximately 40-45 MPH.
Due to Paris' unsafe turning movement to the right, the vehicle left the roadway and entered the southbound shoulder.
The Mitsubishi continued onto the shoulder and down the dirt/grass hill. Consequently, the front end of the Mitsubishi collided with a wooden fence at 283 Deerfield Drive.
The Mitsubishi continued to travel through the backyard and collided with another wooden fence that separates the yard of 283 Deerfield Circle from 289 Deerfield Circle.
After the second collision the Mitsubishi continued in motion through the yard of 289 Deerfield Circle and collided with the back porch.
Paris was transported by Medic 21 to Sonora Regional Hospital.
