What was a concerned neighbors call to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office on October 15, 2012, turned out to be what has become a "sign of the times" in Mountain Ranch.
When neighbors saw someone breaking
into a nearby house and begin taking things out, they immediately call a deputy out.
However, the deputy found the house had been foreclosed and the "break-in" and removal of belongings was ordered by the bank.
Ever since our Supervisors voted to end all building or growth of any kind in Calaveras County, in what they now say was only a recommendation of "40 acres" minimum in 2007, property values have plummeted, our neighbors have lost their jobs, their vehicles, their homes, and finally in many cases, their family life.
When this will change is unclear, but Callaway, Tryon and Wilensky still sit in their positions of power, and we see no change as long as they are in contol.
Yes, sadly this is a "sign of the times" in Calaveras County.

Sierra Sentinel, maybe with a new board, the illusive signed resolution document 07-242 can be found. That document should have Claudino's signature as chairman.
Recently, there has been numerous declarations by an elected person running for re-election "There is no MORATORIUM!" Yet, he still does a lot of micro-managing of the planning dept. on behalf of his buddies.
They have probably burned it. The CAO is backing them because it would hurt Callaway too if the truth came out.. Anyone who was paying attention in late November of 2007 knows exactly what happened. What about Moreno? Would she tell the truth? Doubt it!
