At their last City Council meeting, while McHatten (City Administrator) and Hanham (Planning Director) thought they were stealing glances at each other. Councilperson Scott Behiel was the only one to stand up against the continuing onslaught
against businesses in Angels Camp.
Hanham and McHatten, along with Mayor Morris, and the other Councilpersons thought the new ordinances for businesses who might consider building to create jobs in Angels Camp, were just fine.
The main thing the Behiel brought out was how much parking is being required for certain businesses.
After the meeting we asked different people what they thought about this. Their comments were very interesting.
"They don't really want the new businesses to create more parking. They give them the option to pay money into a "parking" fund. What does this fund go to?" was the question asked.
Everyone we asked said they believe they are trying to get enough cash to condemn some of the older homes in the downtown area in order to create free parking for their favorite landlords. Hmmmm....
Behiel caught Hanham in one of his "inaccuracies" where Hanham told him it was "optional". None of the other councilpersons has the guts to call eith Hanham or McHatten on any questionable behavior.
The ordinance is to be returned to the council on November 20, 2012. They chose not to hold a regular meeting on election night November 6, 2012.
WHY???? Something's wrong at the city. Why don't the elected officials do something about it.

Did you see where Hanham complained about the parking lot where the McDonald's is is overloaded? He's the one that welcomed that into the shopping center. Now he's trying to admit it was a bad idea? WOW!!!
I know which two landlords they are trying to get free land for parking for.
One is a close personal friend of elected officials. hmmmmm
