Letter to the Editor.....About Driving Under the Influence

   Dear Sierra Sentinel:

   I found that Mr. Bissell's idea to pay a reward for turning in a drunk driver a worthy one until I heard Tom Tryon call it a Bounty. We all would like to end drunk driving. But.....

   Both for Tryon's reason and for the fact that they were going to charge every single traffic ticket an extra $5 each, whether for drunk driving or not, I changed my mind.

   Now, how much staff time, both at the Sheriffl's office and at County Counsel, was wasted writing up an ordinance without checking to see if it would pass, was spent? .

   How much of our tax money was wasted, yet again, for nothing?  Our County continues to waste, waste, waste.

   And thank you Tryon for calling it a BOUNTY. You are right!
