Planning Commission Making Rules for Lake Tulloch ONLY?

The Calaveras County Planning Commission has been holding lengthy meetings to formulate an ordinance requiring just the vacation rentals at Lake Tulloch (nowhere else in Calaveras County)
to have an Administrative Use Permit just to rent out the homes in the Lake Tulloch area.

We have received many questions about rentals in other parts of the County, and the only answer we have been given is that Callaway won't allow any rules in her district, where there are many more vacation rentals than at Lake Tulloch.

Apparently, she says there are no complaints about the ones in Ebbetts Pass, so they should not be punished with more rules, only Lake Tulloch.

Some have asked if this is not discrimination, but we aren't sure how the law works with something like this.

Anyway, it does appear that the Planning Commission has nothing better to do than waste time creating more and more and more rules, about everything from signs to businesses, to rentals.

You should watch them sometime. They can pick apart a blade of grass until it wished it was never anything but a seed.
