Don Duke of Valley Springs passes.....

   Donald Alan Duke, lifetime resident of Calaveras County, has passed away at age 82.

   Born in San Andreas
to parents Thomas Brennan Duke and  Emma Elizabeth (Green) Duke, he was a resident of Valley Springs.

   A graduate of Calaveras High School, Mr. Duke served in the U.S. Army in Korea.

   He had been an employee at the Calaveras Cement Plant in San Andreas.

   He was affiliated with Glory Bound Fellowship in Burson and loved gardening.

   Mr. Duke was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Duke, his brother Mickey Duke and his son Roger Lynn Duke.

    He is survived by Dale and Sherry Duke of Ione, Kalvin and Carla Duke of Anderson, Bueford Duke of Valley Springs, Theresa and Gordon Farley of Willard, Utah, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

   The family gives a special thanks to Amador/Calaveras Hospice for their kindness.

   There will be a graveside service at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery in Lodi on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11 AM.

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Amador/Calaveras Hospice.

   San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
