We received yet another strange e-mail from Supervisor Darren Spellman. We have so many now, it's hard to count them all.
We have advised the Sheriff of the continuing problem. Is this man suited to be Vice-Chair this coming year, or any elected official at all?
Mr. Spellman now admits that he has spoken to Peter Racz of the Gold Country Patriot tea party, regularly "many times and even the night before" the Board of Supervisors meeting that had the agenda item about Racz street being adopted by the County.
That means that he knew all along that Racz and majority of other homeowners were against the agenda item. Spellman also stated that Public Works put it on the agenda, not him? He knew nothing about it? Yet another very strange statement.
He is also objecting to our writing "....we are well aware that he doesn't follow basic respect guidelines." This is a true statement that WE at the Sierra Sentinel are all aware, as is Spellman, an easy decision on our part based on the slurring e-mail he wrote that we now have in our possession.
Mr. Spellman states that he has the right to his private opinion of women. Does that mean that there are absolutely no standards of conduct becoming an elected official? We still wonder where he learned this slurring behavior of women.
And was this e-mail not an attempt to slur and injure a news publication that he is angry with and wants to print only what he tells them to print about him.
His misbehavior is not conducive to the actions of a respectable elected official in our opinion. We think he should resign, and will if he truly cares about his constituents.

So this is what Spellman does in all his weeks off every month? Why doesn't he take care of his constituents instead of worrying about his next election?
What is wrong with this guy?
It's been my experience that it's the truth in what is written that makes crazy reactions like Spellmans occur. He's scared...of losing his cushy job!
If Supervisor Spellman wants to read good articles about himself, I suggest he'd better buy his own newspaper.
These Supervisors have entirely too much time to fool around apparently. Is this the kind of thing they all do in their weeks off during each month?
Yes, it's his turn. Hold on to your hats, next year, he'll be chair.
I think we ought to keep him. He offers comic relief. But I'm glad i don't live in his district.
