What could be more exciting and creative for both artist and art collector than to see the imagery created by copying someone else's work?
Calaveras artists were given the challenge to re-create in their own fashion works of art from one of three, two of three, or three of three photos taken by Ed Cline, CCAC Board President.
Clines' images tthat they are to interpret are a white fence and garden, a wooded forest, or a basket of fresh, yummy vegetables.
The gallery show, Copy Cats, opens Saturday, January 19, 2013, with a reception from 1-3 PM.
The show ends Saturday, February 23. Gallery Calaveras is located in the historic Odd Fellows and Masons building at 22 N. Main Street, San Andreas.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM and Saturday 11 AM to 3 PM.
Artists who have committed by press time include Lori Kelly, Pete Kelly, Marilyn Hinsdale, Sumiko Mancinelli, Ann Nancy Macomber, Ruth Morrow, Ken Winebrener, Margaret Roberts, Maren Sampson, Cate Culver, Marilou Cloudwalker, Helen Schofield, Jan Lucas, Antoinette May, Shay Baker, Susie Hoffman and Judy Morgan.
Others will also be stepping forward with their copy cate imagery creation by the opening date.
Gallery Group srtist and volunteer Pat Miltimore once said, "Creative people see that same thing differently and that is why art is so expansive."
So, in other words expect a wide interpretation of the white fence, wooded forest, and veggies.
