Catherine Elizabeth Cornish, of Angels Camp, passed away on February 28, 2013
at Stanford Hospital after a battle with Melanoma Cancer. She was 39.
She was born on October 5, 1974 in Long Beach to Larry Cornish and Diane McCowen Cornish of Angels Camp.
Catherine graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1992 and was Miss Calaveras that year, attended Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco and McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento.
Catherine also attended CalState University of San Diego.
She received a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development from California State University at Monterey Bay and was a licensed Child Care Director and owner of Little Angels Pre-School in Angels Camp since 2005.
A Lay Minister at St. James Episcopal Church in Sonor and a current member of the First Baptist Church of Angels Camp, she also danced and was involved with her son Jonah's school (Christian Family Learning Center) and his sports activities. She also enjoyed boating with family and friends.
Catherine is survived by her son Jonah, age 10; parents, Diane and Larry Cornish of Murphys; brother Trevor Cornish of Sonora; grandmother Barbara McCowen; aunts and uncles Marty and Earl McCowen, Laurel Latshaw, Kris and Doug McCowen; cousins Hayley and Nick Celottos, Hillary and Ryan Tipping, Colin and Jamie McCowen, Chris and Dawn Latshaw, Shelley and Mark Gunther; previously married to Bay Webster of Murphys; and best friend of Jeremy Dente of Angels Camp.
She was predeceased by grandparents Loren and Helen Cornish and Earl McCowen; and uncle Larry Latshaw.
