While Calaveras County is still struggling with the economy, nationwide the number of people employed went up 236,000 in February.
That makes the percentage of unemployed 7.7%. Construction jobs were up by 48,000 and Jim Cramer of CNBC's Mad Money said that housing has always been the problem.
No housing being built, low values on existing housing causes the country to lose its economic lead.
