CHP has just issued their official report of a traffic accident that occured in San Andreas at approximately 7:10 PM on February 28, 2013.
Alexey Stevenson (20) of Murphys, was driving a 1996 GMC Tracker on Maountain Ranch Road westbound, near Oak Park Drive, at an unknown rate of speed.
Jennifer L. Joses (39) of Mountain Ranch was driving a 2011 Dodge Charger on Mountain Ranch Road eastbound at a stated speed of 35-40mph.
For unknown reasons Stevenson allowed the Tracker to cross onto the north shoulder from the westbound lane.
The Tracker then veered back to the left, across both lanes of travel through a sharp curve in the roadway.
The Charger approached the same said curve and observed the Tracker coming straight at her. The left front of the Tracker then collided into the front end of the Charger within the eastbound lane of Mountain Ranch Road.
After the impact, both vehicles came to rest blocking both lanes of travel. There was no indication at this time that alcohol or drug influence was a factor in this collision.
Stevenson was taken to Modesto Memorial Hospital with major injuries. Joses was taken to Mark Twain Hospital with minor injuries.
