   According to a recent gallup poll, the 10 states with the highest government employment per population (listed from low to high) are:


   North Carolina with 18.1%.

    Washington with 19.0%

     Mississippi with 19.1%  

    Louisiana with 19.9%

     West Virginia with 20.8%

    New Mexico with 21.8%

    Virginia with 22.8%

    Maryland with 25.5%

   Hawaii with 27.8%

    Alaska with 28.0%
