Over the years since McHatten was hired to be the City Administrator, the City of Angels has totally lost its way. We need an entire new City Council that will stand up to he and Hanham.
It has been our opinion that the City Council should reconsider both of these men in their positions. How much time do they spend together figuring out ways to "screw" the residents of Angels Camp?
The existing City Council simply passes whatever these two come up with. And believe me, these two men do not, in our opinion, have the residents (voters) interest at heart.
Because residents in Calaveras County and the City are very downheartened due to the drastic economic downturn; with loss jobs and homes, they are not fighting these people.
And these City Council members are taking advantage of it. We've had enough interaction with Michael McHatten to know he could care less about the little guys.
So if the City Council doesn't stand up to him, we are the losers, all of us. Anne Forrest, Dave Hanham and Michael McHatten are allowed to run amuck over us.
For one, Bert Sobon is not capable of making decisions, in our opinion and says some of the most ridiculous things we've ever heard. Also, it is clear that he is easily brainwashed into believing whatever McHatten says is Godlike. He may be a nice man, but is a lousy city council person.
Strong people in town need to stand up and run for City Council. The last two people never even had to run for office; they just got appointed. It is so sad what has happened to Angels Camp. It is gone and the City of Angels, as they are now calling themselves, are taking over.
