Greg Gustafson, newly elected to the Calaveras High School Board of Trustees, came before the Board of Supervisors against
his fellow members on Tuesday April 9, 2013.
During Public Comments he insisted that the rest of the Board of Trustees were wrong in coming and speaking before the Board of Supervisor about "safe routes to schools".
What on earth is he talking about? He is the one we have to wonder what he was doing; was he speaking out against safe routes to schools?
He is a very close friend of Supervisor Spellman and we received an email link by accident that connected him with the Mosts, politically active and in-laws of Allen Luhan, who lost the election last fall in an effort to win a School Board seat.
All that matters to parents in this situation is that the children are safe. Mr. Spellman so hates the Calaveras Unified School District for firing him, that he will do almost anything to hurt them.
Is he even willing to risk children's safety in order to get even with them? Is this possible? This email link, with Spellman and the Mosts, to Gustafson tells it all, we believe.

Hi my name is Amber Barci and I was the parent that went to the Board Of Supervisors meeting in support of the "New" Safe Route to School. I am extremely disappointed that our elected officials have acted so poorly. I am so frustrated that our public officials would not consider the childrens safety. I cannot believe that Mr Gustafson would be against his own board. This is not how a public official should be acting. But considering his company that he associates with, I am not surprised. Mr Spellman and Mr Gustafson need to learn that this is not about them, this is about the children of Jenny Lind Elementary.. Mrs Spellman has been against Jenny Lind Elementary since he has been in office. Since Mr Spellman was fired from CUSD he has taken it out on the children of JLE. Mr Gustafson has also had it in for Jenny Lind Elementary. It seems that Mr Gustafsons friendships with all of those that have been fired from CUSD has clouded his judgement. Mr Spellman supports the sidewalk to NOWHERE. He did everything in his power to make sure that our children did not get the proper route that was pushed by CUSD board of trustees minus Gustafson. How sad that the people that are elected in office really don't know how to do there job... On Wednesday of this last week we had another accident.. Put your egos aside and think of the children like you are suppose to do..
Gustafson is way too tight with Spellman. Spellman doesn't just have it in for Jenny Lind and certain trustees. He hates Calaveras Unified. You can hear him rant against them all the time at Board of Supervisor meetings. They fired him, you know. Now we need to fire him.
Y is Spellman voting if they fired him?? Isn't that a conflict?
That's a great point. I don't think anyone has called him on it. Actually i think conflicts of interest are where money is involved in the outcome of a vote, though. Not sure
Spellman was fired from cusd and then became supervisor. He has shown everyone how much he can hate. Bad man
