Threats to remove tax free status of Boy Scouts?

   Some California legislators are seeking to pressure the Boy Scouts of America to abandon its ban of openly gay members.

   Their idea is to threaten to remove their tax free status.  Why is the Boy Scout orgainization being so defensive of their position?

   Could it be that the Mormon Church actually controls the Boy Scouts now?  They are responding by saying, that next the governent will be after my church.
