Two Arrested for alleged Narcotics for Sale, etc. in Angels Camp

The Angels Camp Police report that on April 11, 2013, around 9 PM they made a traffic
enforcement stop in the 100 block of S. Main Street (Hwy 49) in Angels Camp.

Joseph Adam Alvitre (26) of Tuolumne and John R. Blackwell III, (26) of Stockton, were detained for further investigation.

The stolen vehicle, a Nissan Pickup, displayed passenger car license plates that are registered to a Ford.

Both subjects were inpossession of tools commonly used to commit burglaries, as well as a replica nickel finish semi-automatic pistol and an expandable police-style baton.

An Angels Camp PD K-9 was called to the scene to check for the odors related to narcotics, and the K-9 alerted to the front passenger side of the seat.

Further investigation revealed over a half-ounce of methampetamine and approximately 2 grams of black tar heroin concealed in the seat of the vehicle.

The seat had to be cut with a knife to remove the narcotics, which were concealed in baggies inside of a black plastic container inside the seat.

Neither suspect claimed knowledge of the concealed narcotics.

Alvitre was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges related to the alleged possession of stolen property, possession, sales and transportation of narcotics, possession of burglary tools, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and possession of a billy club.

Blackwell was also arrested and booked on charges related to alleged vehicle theft, possession, sales and transportation of narcotics, possession of burglary tools, and possession of a billy club.
