The cooler weather continues to aid firefighters in their efforts of containment on the wildfires burning in Caliornia.
Last night firefighters were able to contain two of the large wildfires, leaving two remaining active blazes.
Despite the cooler weather, there remains a risk for dry lightning especially in the upper part of the State.
This week is Wildfire Awareness Week. Every year the first full week of May is proclaimed Wildfire Awareness Week and CalFire is taking advantage of this week to remind residents of the dangers from wildfires and the simple steps they can take to prepare for them.
In past years Wildfire Awareness Week was a reminder of the approaching fire season, but with the significant increase in fire activity already seen this year, this is an important reminder that fire season is already here.
