With high-powered appointees or elected officials, we see that they can be scandalized, put their private parts on video, travel to foreign countries for affairs, etc. and still come back.
Anthony Wiener is a perfect example. He is already running for another elective office, as if nothing ever happened.
Mark Sanford has already come back and begged for forgiveness, which got him elected to yet another powerful position. Everyone loves a repentent sinner, right?
Then yesterday we learned that General David Petraeus got a high-level job with a global equity firm only months after being exposed in an affair and being forced to resign from a high-level White House job.
Is this just true of men, or can women get away with this too? We don't think so! Politics can bring you down, but very seldom keeps you OUT for long, though.
