Dear Sierra Sentinel:
My family has lived in Ebbetts Pass for many years. We have hiked and camped
in what was the beutiful Stanislaus National Forest.
I have to tell you that the other day, I took a hike up to one of my favorite places in the forest, and the desecration, the utter demolishing of the forest brought tears to my eyes.
The clear-cutting, and the newest form of disgrace, in the name of preventing forest fires, the CalFire slash and burn. What are they calling it, CHIPs to feed a furnace in Amador County?
It's no wonder there are bears and other creatures looking for food, water, and peace and quiet in the lower elevations. Don't complain about them, its not their fault.
Nothing could live in the horrid massacre that is going on up there. Why doesn't our Supervisor do somehting about it?
All SPI has to do is throw a little money to her logging museum and she bends over for them. And where are all the environmental groups who claim to love the NATURAL surrounding, and don't want any building? (I hear sucking sounds)
They're sitting on their butts doing nothing; in fact, I completely believe they are in cahoots with Wilensky and Callaway to destroy what we love most up here.
And another thing. Bear Valley better hope they sell quick, before possible buyers see that with all the clear-cutting, there will not likely be snow here like we once had it, ever again!!
The smoke from their fires is just a warning of the end of our forests as we once knew them!!
Angry and sick of so-called "environmentalists" in Arnold
