Madness -- or the Future of America

The photos we all saw of the small children shooting guns at the NRA Convention over the weekend, showed the madness in certain people.

In discussing this yesterday, some we spoke with said that the only people who feed into this madness have some type of overwhelming fear of something they think they must defend themselves from.

Others believe that this unreal fear will grow until all of America is afraid to walk outside their doors unarmed.

At that point, lawlessness will prevail and the killing by gun will be not only tolerated, but accespted at the way America comes to its end, at the end of a gun.

Some say they see a time when all disagreements settled by the gun, on the highways, at the workplace and in the neighborhoods where we live.

We already see the trend towards mental and alcohol problems leading to neighborhood disputes becoming violent and the police allowing these things to spiral out of control.

Will the rest of us, the moderate, educated Americans allow this to happen? Is everyone so afraid of the NRA that we will never get proper gun controls in this country?
