In Angels Camp, Anrold or San Andreas, empty storefronts are more common than full ones, it seems. Even Copper Town Square
has many empty stores.
We were very dismayed to hear that the nice bookstore had recently closed there in Copper.
Does Mr. Haley, as representative for Castle and Cooke (landlords) treat all of his lessees the same? We hear that some have received free rent and others have not.
Is it true that Mr. Haley has an attack of some sort if a storeowner puts a television in their store? If Mr. Haley can't handle the stress of running a shopping center, shouldn't C&C have someone else doing it?
And if Mr. Haley does not like living in Saddle Creek, why should anyone else? He pushes and pushes for more development in that tiny town, but chooses to live in Murphys, a no-growth area?
