Motorcycle Fatality Report by CHP

 26, 2013 at approximately 11:30 AM officer Perry was dispatched to a traffic collision that resulted in fatal injuries.

   Upon arrival at the scene, the officer learned that: an unknown  person  was driving a Silver or Tan Chevrolet GMC pickup northbound on Hwy 49, south of Angels Road, at approximately 50 MPH.

   Charles Bray, (57) of Cashmere, Washington was driving a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Hwy 49 south of Angels Road, at approximately 45-50 MPH.

   Michael Rogers, (51) of Columbia was driving a 2002  Mercury Marquis northbound on Hwy 49 south of Angels Road, at approximately 35-40 MPH, behind the Chevrolet pickup.

      The driver of the pickup suddenly turned to the left, onto Angels Road, directly into the path of the motorcycle.

     Mr. Bray steered the motorcycle to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision, and was unable to maintain control on the motorcycle.

   The motorcycle began to swerve left to right, and then collided with the asphalt roadway.  As a result of the collision, Mr. Bray was ejected from the motorcycle.

   The motorcycle then collided with the bumper of the Mercury Marquis. Mr Bray suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at 11:45 AM.

   The driver of the silver or tan Chevrolet or GMC  pickup fled the scene of this collision, missing the center piece of the right front hubcap, and was last seen traveling northbound on angels Road, to northbound Hwy 49.

   This collision is still under investigation.  It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision.
