Roger M. Briski passed away on June 15, 2013 at UCD Medical Center in Sacramento. He was
57.
Roger was born in Stockton to George A. and Ruth Irene (Gomes ) Briski on July 17, 1955. He lived in Amador County all his life.
Roger worked in the family business, Briski Well Drilling Company, Inc, located in San Andreas. He worked with his brothers as a well driller from a very young age, on summer vacations during his school years and then full time after graduation from high school.
In 1983 Roger went to work for Cal Trans in Sacramento as a foundation drilling lead worker. He retired in 2010 after 27 years with Cal Trans.
Roger was the youngest of five brothers. Previously deceased are his brothers George A Briski, Harry E. Briski and David S. Briski, all who lived in San Andreas.
After retiring Roger battled esophageal cancer for three years. Roger gave cancer a good fight, just as any good driller would.
Roger was a quiet man and was well liked by all who knew him. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, anything relating to the outdoors. He loved talking about old times with family and friends. We will miss you, Roger.
Roger leaves behind his son, Thomas J (TJ) Briski of Berthoud, Colorado, daughter Christy I. Craig of Eaton, Colorado, brother Frank J. Briski of Ione, two grandchildren; Serena M. Craig and Logan W. Craig of Eaton, Colorado, sister-in-laws: Carole L. Briski, Patty Briski, Clara M. Briski, nieces; Kimberly Johnson, Caprice Butzler and Shellie Burton, nephews; Greg Briski, Todd Briski, Chad Briski, Dale Briski, Aunt Betty and Uncle Elington Peek and his longtime girlfriend Connie Reyes.
A graveside service will be held to celebrate Rogers' life on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 10 AM at the Altaville Protestant Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Rogers name to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties at PO Box 595 Jackson, Californa 95642
