July 9, 2013: Court is back on the record and immediately the attorneys go up for a sidebar
with the judge.
The jury was called back in. Dr. DeMayo was recalled to the stand. He was asked in cross-examination why he used the re-enactment tape that Zimmerman made, instead of the initial statement he had made.
He was then asked if he thought it was important to know all the facts in each case. He said that he thought they were most important.
He was not provided with all the statements of all the other witnesses. Only of John Good. Were you aware that Trayvon Martin was on the phone with a lady?
He did not. Often the information is not personal, they aren't important, for me. You believe we should be disregarding the other information that led up to the confrontation? No, he answered. The jury should be told.
Then he asked about hypotheticals. Asked does he have a bias for not telling the truth to the police, the Dr. said "that's what you believe."
Then he asked about the flashlight that Zimmerman had. He doesn't think it's heavy enough to be a significant weapon.
