Born on July 13, 1955 in Eugene, Oregon, Gene spent his childhood years mowing lawns, fishing, playing Little League Baseball and belonged to the Indian Guides.
The family moved to California in 1968 and Gene graduated from Del Mar High School in San Jose in 1973.
He lived and worked in the Bay Area for many years until his move to Calaveras County in 1990, where he spent the remaining 23 years of his life.
He is survived by daughter Jennifer (Thomas) Akers of Paso Robles and son Jacob (Lindsay) Roberts of Andover, Maine, sisters Beth Skillern of Portland, Oregon, Carolyn Hamm of Herndon, Virginia and Cheryl Roberts of Murphys, two beautiful granddaughters and 5 nieces and nephews.
Geno loved his family and friends, his freedom, riding his Harley and "fixing stuff". He was a good man with a big heart who was loved by many and will truly be missed.
San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
