July 9, 2013 Zimmerman trial: Dr. DeMayo in cross-examination admitted that indeed he did shoot
live animals while making these tests.
He says his opinion is based on the findings of the local Medical Examiner. He said that if someone pulled my heart out that you could talk at least 10 to 15 seconds.
He now says Trayvon Martin could have lived for up to 3 minutes. What about how he wrestled the gun away from the victim, could that have been the same?
He has no idea how the gun got pulled out and aimed at Martin. You say that Martin was on top of Zimmerman. In what angle was this.
Could it also be consistent with them being in a standing position? He says that Trayvon Martin had to be on top during the shooting.
Could it be that Martin was pulling away at the time of the shooting? Yes, he answered. Could it also be that he could have hit a tree branch? Did he have any abrasions?
He didn't see a tree branch there. Then he started talking about police nightsticks. The defendant stated that there was a struggle near the trees, didn't he.
He answered that yes, they could have been received from tree branches. He is getting confused and said he lost his train of thought.
