According to CHP, Stacy Taylor (43) of Valley Springs was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe southbound on Six Mile Rd south of the entrance to Ironstone Vineyards at approximately 5 MPH in heavy traffic.
The motorcycle rounded a left-hand radius curve in the roadway and crossed over the solid double yellow lines and into the northbound lane as he passed southbound traffic.
The motorcycle drove through a patch of loose gravel in the roadway and lost control of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle then crashed onto its side and slid back across the double yellow lines and into the southbound lane.
The motorcycle collided with the left-hand side of the Chevy Tahoe. Thomas was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center with minor injuries.

We were directly behind the Tahoe when it was struck. The motorcyclist simply misjudged his speed relative to the sharpness of the turn and plowed into the side of the Tahoe. There was no gravel in the road, he just was not able to make that turn at that speed.
