Maria Hinsey (53) of Valley Springs was the right front passenger in a 1998 Jeep travelling on what CHP described as a "beautiful" day on July 14, 2013.
While on Sandretto Road South at Pardee Dam, the driver, who is not named in the report, lost control of the Jeep as he attempted to negotiate a right hand curve.
The Jeep left the paved portion of the roadway and struck an uphill dirt embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The driver was uninjured. His passenger suffered moderate injuries and was transported by air to Memorial Hospital in Modesto. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, per CHP.
