It appears that the San Francisco firefighter, who allegedly drove a ladder truck into a motorcyclist while drunk and then left the scene, may be terminated.
Michael Quinn, who has 23 years of service is in rehab outside the city, according to officials, causes the motorcyclist broken ribs and a punctured lung.
Quinn was arrested after the crash on June 29, 2013 at Fifth and Howard streets. He had been driving the ladder truck on what turned out to be a false alarm.
Apparently, reports say that Quinn did stop the fire engine, but disappeared after being told that he would have to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run and drunk driving when he should up two hours later at the station.
We have been told that drinking on the job is not that uncommon among fire department personnel.
