August 18, 2013 at 5:42 AM: The latest info on the Bridges Fire in Calaveras County at Parrott's
Ferry Road and Camp Nine is that it has now grown to 127 acres and is 25% contained.
According to CalFire firefighters continued working through the night in steep rocky terrain with difficulty in accessibility, to establish a line around the fire.
Altaville/Melones Fire, Angels City Fire, Murphys Fire, West Point Fire, Central Fire, San Joaquin County, Stanislaus County, Stanislaus National Forest and Los Angeles County Fire are co-operating with CalFire in suppressing the fire.
Two firefighters have been injured while battling this fire. The cause of the Bridges Fire is still under investigation.
CalFire reminds drivers to watch out for emergency vehicles in the Angels Camp, Vallecito areas.
One good thing is that Melones Reservoir is right next to the fire, so planes and copters can refill without going far.
