Rim Fire September 2, 2013 during the night

   UPDATE:  As of 9:45 PM on September 2, 2013 the total acres burned was 235,841  or 368 square miles. Containment is 70% and the cost is $72 million.

   As of 4:15 PM on September 2, 2013 the Rim Fire totals are 231,088 acres, 8,310 acres more than on Sunday, September 1, 2013.

   Containment is now 60%. Backfire operations continue. Officials are stating that fire activity does not appear to have crossed the Sierra crest, but smoke will continue to be heavy in many area.
