September 7, 2013: As of the 9 AM report the Rim Fire has consumed
252,156 acres or 394 square miles of forest.
That is nearly 10,000 acres more since the last report. It is still at 80% containment.
There will be a meeting in Twain Harte tomorrow, September 8, 2013 at 6 PM at Twain Harte Park to answer questions from the community there.
Motorists driving on Hwy 120 are asked to please not stop or slow down to view the fire area as it causes traffic hazards when vehicles don't keep moving. Please drive carefully!!
Also of interest, is that the cause of the fire on the USFS website has be changed back to "Under Investigation" even though it had been released to the public that a hunter caused the fire 2 days ago.
