According to CHP, yet another fatal motorcycle accident has has occurred in Calaveras County;
this time at Camanche.
Per the report, Matthew W. Maddox, (22) of Wallace was traveling northbound on a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle on July 5, 2013 at around 1:19 AM on south Camanche Parkway at an unknown rate of speed.
Samuel C. Knox, (22) of Burson, was following Maddox's vehicle, a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Maddox's impairment is not known at this time. Knox was traveling while allegedly intoxicated on northbound South Camamche Parkway at approximately 55 MPH.
It is unknown at this time why Maddox lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the asphalt pavement.
Know, who was behind Maddox, was unable to stop in time and collided with Maddox, who had been ejected onto the asphalt.
Maddox succumbed to his injuries and Knox was admitted into Mark Twain Hospital. He was arrested at that time.
