Joy Johnson, an 86 year old retired gym teacher from San Jose, has run in 25 NYC Marathons. On Sunday, she fell and hit her head, but insisted on finishing the race.
The next morning, she was interviewed on the Today show, went back to her hotel room and lay down.
Her sister tried to get her to go to the hospital, but she resisted. She fell asleep and never woke up. This would be her last marathon.
