Mae Catherine "Cat" Watkins of Valley Springs

 
  October 27, 1937 to November 7, 2013

    Mae Catherine Watkins died peacefully at her home in Valley Springs on November 7, 2013. She had been a Calaveras County resident for 29 years.

    She was a wife to Walter Franklin Watkins (Frank), the love of her life. She was 15 and he was 17 years old when they married on December 19, 1952, 61 years ago.

   Catherine was preceded in death by her brother Ray Walker of Kentucky and sister Elsie Todd of Indiana.

   She leaves behind her husband Frank Watkins of Valley Springs, children Cheryl Shelley (Phillip, Sr.) of Valley Springs and daughter-in-law Trudy Roberts of Valley Springs; grandchildren Crystal Young II (Danny) of San Andreas and Philip Shelley Jr. of Valley Springs, three great-grandchildren, Danny Young III (8), Caleb Young (5) and Adam Young (1 mo) of San Andreas.   There are also 21 nieces and nephews in various locations.

   Catherine attended church at Mt Zion of San Andreas. Pastor Ed Sheppherd will officiate the graveside services at People's Cemetery in San Andreas on November 16, 2013 at 11 AM.

   Mae Catherine "Cat" Watkins in now in the loving arms of the Lord, where the skies are blue, the sun is warm, the roses are blooming, and she will rest with everlasting peace.
