Mary Jane Teresa (LeBlanc) Knudson, of Copperopolis passed away on November 1, 2013 at Mark Twain
Convalescent Hospital. She was 83.
A native of Proctor, Minnesota, was born on April 4, 1930, one of 9 children, and grew up there, graduating from high school.
She met and married Darrell Knudson while he was in the Air Force and after he was discharged they married and lived in Wadina, Minnesota, where their first child, Jeff, was born.
Darrell was hired by Lockheed Missile and Space Company and they moved to California where their other four children were born. She was a homemaker who had lived in Copperopolis for 20 years.
She loved garage sales, gardening and being with family for big meals.
Mrs. Knudsen is survived by her husband of 59 years, Darrell Knudson of Copperopolis; children Jeffrey (Barb) Knudson of Richmond, Jane (Don) Ham of Copperopolis, Richard (Kathy) Knudson of Riverbank, Brian Knudson of Copperopolis and Barry Knudson of San Jose; brother Malvin Le Blanc of Corpus Christy, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on November 8, 2013 at 1 PM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 127 W. Jackson Street in Sonora.
A reception will follow at Brian's house at 1861 Sawmill in Copperopolis. Inurnment will be in the Copperopolis Cemetery.
